JOAO SILVEIRA, PHD

It all makes sense
My name is João Silveira, and my work bridges science and art to create learning experiences for companies, schools, and universities. I'm currently based at a research institution in France, where I'm responsible for developing online and in-person courses and managing projects focused on learning innovation. Prior to this, my journey took me through Boston, Rio de Janeiro, Florianópolis, and Santa Maria, though my roots are in Cruz Alta, a small town in Rio Grande do Sul.
My career path has been transdisciplinary, encompassing experiences as a professional dancer and choreographer, pharmacist, laboratory equipment salesman, entrepreneur, and consultant. On the academic side, I hold a doctorate in Education from UFRJ | Harvard and have served as a visiting researcher at Harvard and the University of Texas, in addition to a postdoctoral position at Fiocruz. Many of these things at the same time.
To the more distracted eye, I was simply indecisive or didn't know how to focus on a single area. But, upon closer inspection, it is possible to see that "it all makes sense" and that these experiences were all catalysts and fundamental in making me who I am today.
If this type of trajectory interests you, the book " It All Makes Sense" will probably interest you. It is not my biography, but it is much better than that. In it, I mention icons that have connected art, science and innovation throughout history, I deal with education , innovation and how a transdisciplinary vision of the world can be one of the keys to creativity.
